Brothers -

2020 is turning out to be a unique year for many reasons, not the least of which is the current COVID-19 (Coronavirus) situation that has been developing throughout the world and is now affecting us here in the US as well.

Organizations of many kinds, including churches, have felt the responsibility to weigh the risks associated with gathering together in person.  The Quest leadership team has also been pondering the correct course of action.  As you might guess, we are not thrilled at the prospect of cancelling Quest.  But we do feel a responsibility to consider the best information we have available in a careful and prayerful way.  Not our will, but God's be done, after all.

After reading and considering the most recent information we have available, we've come to the conclusion that it is best not meet next weekend (March 20-22).  This is after reviewing the positions of various churches, available technical information, and the advice of those with relevant expertise that we trust.  Note that we have the advantage of a professional statistician and an expert in bioinformatics on the Quest leadership team.  It's hard to believe that this is an accident and not another way God takes charge of Quest.  It's His retreat.

This is not a casual decision.  Nobody really wants to cancel Quest.  So for now, we are postponing Quest and looking ahead for other possible dates after the COVID-19 situation passes, and gathering creates less of a risk.

Some may not agree with this decision, and we understand that.  It may be helpful to read through one or both of the articles linked below.  These are the kinds of articles we've been considering as we pondered the right course of action.

If you have questions, certainly don't hesitate to ask.
